Background 

Bree is originally from Balclutha in South Otago.  She graduated from the University of Otago with a Bachelor of Laws and Bachelor of Arts, majoring in Politics and minoring in Criminology.  She moved to Gisborne in 2020 to join the Litigation team at Woodward Chrisp.  Prior to that, she interned with the Police Prosecution Service in Dunedin, and worked at the New Zealand Law Society National Office in Wellington. 

During 2022, Bree moved to Auckland to junior for a prominent Barrister.  She has since returned to Gisborne to recommence practicing law at Woodward Chrisp.

Achievements

As a member of the Litigation team at Woodward Chrisp, Bree predominantly works in Criminal law but also practices employment and civil law.  She has appeared in the District Court, High Court, Parole Board hearings and several Investigation Meetings before the Employment Relations Authority.  She was a member of the Gisborne Branch of the New Zealand Law Society between 2020 and 2022 and is currently a member of the inaugural National New Lawyer’s Group. 

Interests

Outside of work, Bree loves to spend time with her friends and family.  She enjoys travelling, cooking, playing social sport and spending time at Tairawhiti’s many beautiful beaches.
